Missing Wyoming Cat Travels 800 Miles to Return Home to California After Two-Month Mystery

Incredible Reunion: Cat’s Two-Month Adventure Across States Ends in Heartwarming Homecoming

For two months, California couple Benny and Susanne Anguiano endured heartbreak after losing their beloved cat, Rayne Beau, in Yellowstone National Park. During a camping trip, Rayne Beau was startled by something in the wilderness and dashed into the trees, leaving the couple frantic and worried. They searched daily, laying out treats and toys in hopes of luring him back, but their efforts were in vain.

In early August, their luck turned when a pet-tracking service contacted them with incredible news: Rayne Beau had been found in Roseville, California, nearly 800 miles from where he went missing. A compassionate passerby had discovered him alone in the street and brought him to a local shelter. When the couple learned this, they were filled with relief, but also concerned for their cat’s wellbeing.

“He was really depleted,” Susanne recalled, noting that Rayne Beau probably didn’t have much energy left. The couple shared their emotional journey on social media, urging pet owners to consider microchips and tracking devices to prevent similar heartache. Statistics from the American Veterinary Medical Association highlight the importance of microchips, revealing that while only one in 50 shelter cats is reunited with their owners, nearly two out of five microchipped cats return home.
